The Metals:
Gold edged up to $1175.19 at about 9:45AM EST before it fell back to $1167.05 in early afternoon trade and then bounced back higher into the close, but it still ended with a loss of 0.09%. Silver slipped to as low as $16.69 and ended with a loss of 0.18%.
Euro gold rose to about €1091, platinum lost $1 to $933, and copper fell a couple of cents to about $2.67.
Gold and silver equities saw slight gains for most of the morning, but they then drifted back lower in afternoon trade and ended almost 1% lower on the day.

Oil fell almost 2% on doubts that OPEC members will actually meet their pledged production cuts.
The U.S. dollar index rose as the euro fell ahead of Thursday’s ECB meeting.
Treasuries edged lower as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P turned slightly higher in afternoon trade on hopes for more stimulus from the ECB.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Chipotle, Boeing, Toll Bros, Nike, McDonald’s, and Verizon.
