The Metals:
Gold gained $4.74 to $1195.64 in Asia before it fell back to $1188.25 in London, but it then rose to a new session high of $1199.29 in New York and ended with a gain of 0.41%. Silver rose to as high as $17.27 and ended with a gain of 0.06%.
Euro gold rose to about €1118, platinum gained $4 to $987, and copper fell a few cents to about $2.66.
Gold and silver equities rose about 1.5% by midmorning before they drifted back lower for most of the rest of trade, but they ended mixed and near unchanged on the day.

Oil fell 1% on continued concerns about climbing US production.
The U.S. dollar index erased early gains and closed lower while treasuries traded mixed as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P dropped on concerns about Trump’s shift toward isolationist policies.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Walgreens, VW, Tesla, Fitbit, GM, and Honda.
