The Metals:
Gold fell $4.76 to $1210.54 at about 8AM EST before it shot to as high as $1221.29 by midmorning in New York and then fell back off at times, but it still ended with a gain of 0.3%. Silver rose to as high as $17.538 and ended with a loss of 0.06%.
Euro gold rose to about €1131, platinum gained $4 to $1001, and copper fell 7 cents to about $2.62.
Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended mixed.

Oil edged higher on “expectations that output cuts by major producers will continue to chip away at global oversupply.”
The U.S. dollar index ended lower in mixed trade on worries about fading wage growth.
Treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P followed the financials higher after President Trump ordered a review of Dodd-Frank.
Among the big names making news in the market Friday were Uber, Snapchat, Amazon, Fitbit, GoPro, and Nordstrom.
