Gold fell $4.76 to $1210.54 at about 8AM EST before it shot to as high as $1221.29 by midmorning in New York and then fell back off at times, but it still ended with a gain of 0.3%. Silver rose to as high as $17.538 and ended with a loss of 0.06%.
Euro gold rose to about €1131, platinum gained $4 to $1001, and copper fell 7 cents to about $2.62.
Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended mixed.
The BLS net birth/death adjustment subtracted 247,000 payrolls from January’s data. Private Payrolls rose 237,000.
