The Metals:
Gold held near unchanged in Asia, but it then fell back off in London and New York and ended near its late session low of $1214.20 with a loss of 0.83%. Silver slipped to as low as $17.468 and ended with a loss of 1.63%.
Euro gold fell to about €1150, platinum lost $20 to $957, and copper fell 4 cents to about $2.62.
Gold and silver equities fell nearly 2% at the open before they rose to see over 1% gains in late morning trade, but they then drifted back lower in early afternoon action and ended with almost 1% losses on the day.

Oil edged lower in mixed trade as OPEC cuts continue to be offset by rising US production.
The U.S. dollar index saw slight gains and treasuries fell on the outlook for an interest rate hike by the fed next week.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mostly lower on apprehension over upcoming central bank meetings.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Iflix, Ford, Snap, Pandora, RadioShack, and HPE and Nimble Storage.
