The Metals:
Gold edged up to $1287.30 in London before it spiked down to $1279.40 at about 10AM EST, but it then rose to a new session high of $1292.30 in early afternoon trade and ended with a gain of 0.49%. Silver slipped to as low as $18.091 before it also bounced back higher, but it still ended with a loss of 0.49%.
Euro gold fell to about €1202, platinum lost $9 to $974, and copper fell 7 cents to about $2.54.
Gold and silver equities traded mostly slightly lower and ended with modest losses.

Oil edged lower ahead of tomorrow’s inventory data.
The U.S. dollar index fell and treasuries saw notable gains as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P dropped on poor earnings reports and political uncertainty.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Netflix, Pandora, Harley-Davidson, Cadillac, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and Johnson & Johnson.
