The Metals:
Gold fell throughout most of world trade and ended near its late session low of $1326.40 with a loss of 1.4%. Silver slipped to as low as $17.712 and ended with a loss of 1.33%.
Euro gold fell to about €1111, platinum lost $21 to $986, and copper climbed a few cents to about $3.06.
Gold and silver equities fell roughly 3% by midafternoon and remained near that level into the close.
The Economy:

The Markets:
Oil ended over 1% higher in mixed trade on thoughts that energy demand impacts from Hurricane Irma will not be as bad as feared.
The U.S. dollar index rose and treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P gained over 1% on relief over the manageable damage caused by storms over the weekend.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Google, Shell, Tesla, Nissan, and T-Mobile.
