The Metals:
Gold waffled between $1268.40 and $1272.4 in Asia before it popped up to $1274.50 in early afternoon New York trade and then drifted back lower into the close, but it still ended with a gain of 0.04%. Silver rose to as high as $16.66 and ended with a gain of 0.24%.
Euro gold remained at about €1083, platinum lost $1 to $910, and copper climbed a penny to about $2.96.
Gold and silver equities rose roughly 1% by late morning and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

Tomorrow brings ADP employment and ISM Non-Manufacturing. Janet Yellen also speaks at 3:15PM EST at the Community Banking in the 21st Century Conference in St. Louis.
The Markets:
Oil held near unchanged ahead of tomorrow’s supply data.
The U.S. dollar index edged lower as the euro advanced on thoughts that the ECB may signal a more cautious tone when Draghi speaks tomorrow.
Treasuries traded mixed while the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P bumped higher on strong car sales reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were JPMorgan, Tesla, GM, Ford, Toyota, Paychex, Google, Tesla, Bitcoin, and Wal-Mart.
