The Metals:
Gold fell $7.70 to $1267.90 in midmorning New York trade before it edged back higher into the close, but it still ended with a loss of 0.39%. Silver slipped to as low as $16.643 and ended with a loss of 0.71%.
Euro gold fell to about €1091, platinum remained at $917, and copper dropped a penny to about $3.09.
Gold and silver equities fell a little over 1% in the first half hour of trade and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

U.S. employment costs hit nine-year high MarketWatch
Tomorrow brings ADP Employment, PMI Manufacturing, ISM Manufacturing, Construction Spending, and a FOMC Meeting Announcement.
The Markets:
Oil remained strong on the outlook for an extension to supply cuts.
The U.S. dollar index traded mostly slightly higher on mixed economic data that held treasuries near unchanged.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P rose on hopes for tax cuts.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Under Armour, BP, Mastercard, Pfizer, and Kellogg.
