Gold saw slight losses in Asia, but it then jumped up to as high as $1275.90 in New York and ended with a gain of 0.54%. Silver rose to as high as $16.417 and ended with a gain of 1.12%.
Euro gold rose to about €1075, platinum remained at $915, and copper climbed a couple of cents to about $3.21.
Gold and silver equities gained roughly 1% by late morning and remained near that level into the close.

Oil edged higher after “Baker Hughes said the number of U.S. oil rigs was unchanged at 747 this week.”
The U.S. dollar index saw slight gains and treasuries fell on mixed economic data that held the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P modestly lower.
Among the big names making news in the market Friday were Jack in the Box, UnitedHealth, Ford, and Bitcoin.
