The Metals:
Gold fell $11 to $1309 in midmorning New York trade before it bounced back higher into the close, but it still ended with a loss of 0.45%. Silver slipped to as low as $16.914 and ended with a loss of 0.70%.
Euro gold fell to about €1101, platinum lost $4 to $966, and copper fell a couple of cents to about $3.20.
Gold and silver equities dropped over 1% at the open and remained near that level for the rest of the day.
The Economy:

Tomorrow brings Import and Export Prices and Wholesale Trade.
The Markets:
Oil rose 2% on expectations for another drop in crude inventories tomorrow.
The U.S. dollar index edged higher and treasuries fell as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mostly higher on optimism over upcoming earnings reports.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Airbus, GoPro, GM, Microsoft, Nvidia, Intel, and Target.
