The Metals:
Gold dipped $2.90 to $1308.50 in Asia before it jumped up to $1315.20 after this morning’s jobs report and then quickly dropped back to $1308.20, but it then rallied back higher into the close and ended with a gain of 0.2%. Silver chopped between $16.342 and $16.504 and ended with a gain of 0.49%.
Euro gold rose above €1099, platinum gained $7.50 to $908.50, and copper remained at about $3.08.
Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended slightly higher.
The Economy:

Next week’s economic highlights include Consumer Credit on Monday, JOLTS data on Tuesday, PPI and Wholesale Trade on Wednesday, Initial Jobless Claims, CPI, and the Treasury Budget on Thursday, and Import and Export Prices and Consumer Sentiment on Friday.
The Markets:
Oil gained nearly 2% on concerns about Iran and Venezuela.
The U.S. dollar index edged higher and treasuries held near unchanged after this morning’s jobs data did little to alter expectations about future fed policy.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P jumped over 1% higher on goldilocks economic data.
Among the big names making news in the market Friday were Apple, CBS and Viacom, Shake Shack, Pandora, and Carbon Black.
