The Metals:
Gold climbed $10.90 to $1322.70 by midmorning In New York before it pared back heading into midday, but it then rallied back higher in afternoon trade and ended with a gain of 0.67%. Silver rose to as high as $16.75 and ended with a gain of 1.39%.
Euro gold remained at about €1107, platinum gained $11 to $923, and copper climbed 5 cents to about $3.11.
Gold and silver equities rose over 1% at the open and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

The Markets:
Oil ended slightly higher in mixed trade as the U.S. dollar index fell and treasuries climbed higher along with the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P on tame CPI data that reduced expectations for more interest rate hikes.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Nvidia, Roku, Wells Fargo, RBS, UniCredit, AMC Networks, and Eli Lilly.
