Gold dipped $4.30 to $1287.90 in Asia before it edged up to $1296.00 by midmorning in New York and then drifted back lower into the close, but it ended with a loss of just 0.02%. Silver chopped between $16.448 and $16.665 and ended with a gain of 0.24%.
Euro gold remained at about €1097, platinum gained $10.50 to $905, and copper climbed 2 cents to about $3.11.
Gold and silver equities rose about 1% at the open, but they then fell back off for most of the rest of trade and ended near unchanged.

Oil ended slightly lower along with the U.S. dollar index while treasuries found slight gains ahead of tomorrow’s fed minutes.
The Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P fell in late trade on renewed concerns about trade policy.
Among the big names making news in the market today were GM, Ford, Lowe’s, Facebook, Sony, Adobe, Micron, and PayPal.
