The Metals:

Gold dipped $2.60 to $1210.90 in Asia before it bounced back to $1217.20 in London and then dropped back lower in New York, but it ended with a loss of just 0.12%. Silver chopped between $15.367 and $15.503 and ended with a gain of 0.13%.

Euro gold rose above �1051, platinum gained $7.50 to $836.50, and copper climbed a penny to about $2.75.

Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended mixed.

The Economy:

The Markets:

The U.S. dollar index rose as the ruble fell markedly after a �draft Senate bill proposing tough new sanctions for Russia�s role in interfering in the 2016 U.S. presidential election was published Wednesday by local Russian newspaper The Kommersant.�

Oil edged lower on continued concerns about a trade war that sent treasuries higher and held the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P near unchanged.

Among the big names making news in the market today were Yelp, Spotify, Maersk, Samsung, GM, Comcast, Tribune, and Booking Holdings.
