The Metals:
Gold chopped higher throughout most of world trade and ended near its last-minute high of $1184.40 with a gain of 0.9%. Silver rose to as high as $14.80 and ended with a gain of 1.16%.
Euro gold climbed above €1035, platinum gained $11 to $788, and copper climbed 5 cents to about $2.67.
Gold and silver equities gained roughly 2% in the first half hour of trade and remained near that level for the rest of the day.

The Markets:
Oil rose almost 1% and the U.S. dollar index fell on continued optimism about upcoming trade talks with China that held treasuries near unchanged and sent the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P higher.
Among the big names making news in the market Friday were DoorDash, TiVo, Nvidia, Teva, and Tesla.
