The Metals:
Gold waffled near unchanged in Asia before it rose to see a $9.70 gain at $1206.70 in early New York trade and then fell back to about unchanged by midday, but it then edged back higher in afternoon trade and ended with a gain of 0.23%. Silver slipped to as low as $14.1119 and ended with a loss of 0.21%.
Euro gold rose above €1032, platinum gained $12 to $789, and copper climbed 2 cents to about $2.63.
Gold and silver equities waffled near unchanged and ended slightly lower.

The Markets:
Oil fell over 1% after the Energy Information Administration reported that crude inventories fell 4.3 million barrels, gasoline inventories rose 1.8 million barrels, and distillates rose 3.1 million barrels.
The U.S. dollar index chopped near unchanged and ended slightly lower ahead of tomorrow’s jobs data.
Treasuries rose as the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P traded mostly lower on trade, economic, and political uncertainty.
Among the big names making news in the market today were Tesla, Ford, CBS, BioCryst, and Uber.
